NEUTROPHIL-LYMPHOCYTIC RATIO (NLR) OR ALBUMIN-GLOBULIN RATIO (AGR) WHICH ONE IS A BETTER PREDICTOR MARKER IN ASSESSMENT OF SEVERITY OF COVID-19 INFECTION

چکیده

The current study retrospectively enrolled, 75 confirmed COVID-19 patients who were hospitalized in a tertiary care hospital from December 2020 to February 2021. diagnosis was by RT-PCR nasopharyngeal swab.
Demographic data and laboratory values collected medical records patient file. following variables recorded for each patient: age, sex, chest CT severity scores of lung involvement at admission, history Comorbidities like diabetes mellitus, hypertension noted findings Absolute neutrophils count, lymphocytes count Complete blood Serum albumin, globulin level Liver function test patient.
This proves that N-L ratio is more accurate predictor SARS-COVID-19 infection than A-G with sensitivity, specificity, positive negative predictive value can be used as marker places where resources limited. However, larger subjects requires exact correlation.
Keywords: NLR, AGR, Severity & COVID-19.

Neutrophil-to-Albumin Ratio as A Novel Predictor of Mortality in Patients with Sepsis

Background and Objective: Sepsis is a syndrome involving physiological, pathological, and biochemical abnormalities caused by infection. Very few studies have been performed to evaluate the prognostic value of the neutrophil-to-albumin ratio. The present study aimed to evaluate the neutrophil-to-albumin ratio in patients with sepsis admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU). Materials and Meth...

Albumin to globulin ratio, a predictor or a misleader?

We appreciate the letter to the editor by Alkan et al. [1] in response to our recently published article [2]. Alkan et al. bring up some potentially valid points about our study. They suggest rheumatic diseases should have been excluded from the study population, as these conditions are ‘important causatives for chronic inflammation.’ They also suggest the inclusion of elderly subjects older th...

Investigating Neutrophil-Lymphocyte Ratio as a Predictive Marker of Disease Activity in Rheumatoid Arthritis

Background and purpose: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease characterized by synovitis, inflammation, and joint destruction that if not well controlled can destroy cartilage, bone, ligaments and tendons, and in some cases cause disability. The aim of this study was to evaluate the possible role of the ratio of neutrophil-lymphocyte (NLR) as an inflammatory mar...

The Albumin/Globulin Ratio: A Technical Study.

In 1885-6 Kauder observed that globulin was precipitated from serum when the concentration of ammonium sulphate reached 24 to 29 per cent of full saturation and that its precipitation was complete when the concentration reached 36 to 46 per cent of complete saturation. Thereafter no further precipitation took place until the concentration reached 64 per cent of full saturation, when albu-min st...

Preoperative Albumin to Globulin Ratio (AGR) as Prognostic Factor in Renal Cell Carcinoma

Background: Malnutrition and systemic inflammatory response are frequently associated with prognosis in patients with several types of cancer, including renal cell carcinoma (RCC). The study is aimed to investigate the ability of preoperative serum albumin to globulin ratio (AGR) to predict the long-term mortality of RCC patients. Methods: The study is a retrospective study of an unselected coh...
